Burying loved ones who have passed naturally, is a well-practiced tradition for people around the world. When bodies are returned to the earth wrapped in a shroud, or contained within a biodegradable casket, they become part of the natural biological processes in the earth.
Conversations around death and dying can be hard for people. For this reason, we offer an online Zoom Room every Tuesday afternoon from 4-5pm for Bluestem Conversations. These are opportunities to share experiences with natural burial (or conventional burial) and to reflect on the opportunity we have together, to change the ways we anticipate and participate in end of life decisions. We'd love to hear from you too.
To register for a session send us your email address and we will send the Zoom link the Monday beforehand.
Build with Us
Conservation burial projects depend on community support and participation. There is fundraising necessary, outreach to make, presentations to create, trails to build, fields to seed, and eventually opportunities for accompanying friends and neighbors in the act of burial.
As Bluestem comes into being, we invite you to get in touch, send ideas, make a donation to support its opening, and plan to visit this Spring.
Other ways to get involved in building Bluestem include: joining a working group, a journey group, or sharing the project with friends and family. We welcome introductions to your local businesses, churches and community groups. We are happy to arrange an in-person presentation (currently we are doing those outdoors) or by Zoom. Please get in touch.
