COMMUNITY EVENTS
As we grow into this beautiful space, some wonderful outdoor (and indoor) activities are planned by and for this generous community. Some events are planned by partners and others are simply an invitation to show up at the barn, in the sanctuary, or quietly walking the pathways. All events are open to the public; please note where registration is required. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into this nature inspired community.

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Nature Connection Ramble
Join Bluestem volunteer and certified interpretive guide Margot Lester for an easy ramble through the meadows and woodlands. This walk is a great opportunity to process recent events, calm your nervous system and be in community. We’ll do a range of activities including sense sharpening, breath work and using Merlin, eBird and iNaturalist to learn more about what we encounter. While we love dogs and kiddos, this program is only for humans 18 and up. Preregistration is required, the apps aren't. Please sign up here.

Sunday, December 1
10:00 - 11:00 AM Being Nature
with Tammerie Day Join Tammerie Day for the third practice of Being Nature at Bluestem. If you have ever had what felt like a mystical experience with a tree, or if you just love trees and would like to experience companionship with them, this Sunday is for you. We’ll meet at the barn to gather ourselves and our thoughts, and then move into the trees of Bluestem to practice arbor divina, an adaptation of an ancient practice for focused meditation. Rather than ruminating on a text, we’ll take one or several trees as our focus, and practice deep noticing and listening. Feel free to bring a journal or sketchpad if that is part of your practice, but no supplies are needed, other than an hour of your time and attention. Please register here if you plan to attend!

Quiet Hour at Bluestem
We hold the Friday noon hour as an intentional slowing down moment, whether together or on our own. Park in the parking area and walk to the Woodland Sanctuary, just west of the Barn. Benches overlooking the pond await you. Feel welcome to bring a poem to read aloud, or just yourself. If you prefer more movement, pathways and shady areas around the property beckon for walking or sitting meditations. Email us for more information.
